Objectives

In this course, you will...

  • Examine the representation and exclusion of people with disabilities in civil rights movements.
  • Critically evaluate the reasons for this neglect, and explore the role of mass media in shaping societal views of people with disabilities.
  • Gain an understanding of how educational contexts and practices support or diminish the presence of students with disabilities in mainstream school spaces and anti-ableist curricular representation will be supported.
