Description

This course will introduce the C.A.R.E. themes through an equity and civil rights lens.  It will also demonstrate how these themes address equity and mitigate the achievement gap.

This course is a part of the C.A.R.E. Series. The C.A.R.E. themes (Culture, Ability, Resilience, Effort) are instrumental in helping to close the Achievement Gaps and are supported in part by decisions made at the school and district level. These decisions are essential to sustaining the changes and improvements that the C.A.R.E. themes foster.

  • Understand the federal role in addressing opportunity and achievement gaps.

  • Understand the root causes of the opportunity and achievement gaps.

  • Understand the difference between the opportunity gap and achievement gap.
