Description

This stack pairs the companion courses, Introduction to Coaching and Leading People and Team Specialization, as they both expand on many of the approaches described for working one-on-one with another educator. These first two modules are prerequisites to diving into the Leadership Developing.

Objectives

  • Module 1
    • Analyze the characteristics of adult learners to coach more strategically.

    • Analyze how adult learning styles impact their coaching work.

    • Analyze different coaching models.

    • Define and articulate their coaching role, in general and within their individual contexts.

    • Analyze three stages of a coaching cycle.

    • Analyze and implement coaching conversation strategies.

    • Analyze and implement effective listening strategies.

    • Analyze and implement strategies to effectively establish trust.

    • Analyze and implement strategies and tools. The purpose is to build trust while engaged in data-driven conversations with coaches.

    • Analyze and implement strategies to build an effective team.

    • Curate course content and resources to create a coaching binder for use with coaches.

  • Module 2
    • You will analyze and implement tools and strategies to articulate a team’s purpose, their vision and mission, and goal setting; explore who we are as leaders and who we want to be as leaders; create a culture of trust; and explore the importance of a leader’s Emotional Intelligence (EI)

    • You will examine strategies and resources that affect team development; identify the steps for establishing optimal conditions during difficult situations; foster effective team communication; successfully make collaborative decisions; and cultivate healthy conflict on a team  

    • You will investigate approaches and resources to create team norms and agreements, group roles, and meeting agendas 

    • You will critique and design strategies to assess team effectiveness and provide feedback 

    • You will curate course content and resources to create a coaching binder intended to be used with teams

  • Module 3

    • Learn a set of core organization design concepts for teams and team-based structures.

    • Learn the characteristics of high-performance teams.

    • Learn about team dynamics that can help or hinder the team’s performance.

    • Learn the distinctions between coaching, consulting, facilitation, and team building.

    • Learn basic team coaching interventions in the domains of inquiry and advocacy.

    • Develop a researched-based coaching plan.
